About Liquid Compute

Liquid Compute is building the financial layer for AI compute. GPU capacity is still bought and sold through fragmented, bespoke agreements: prices are hard to compare, supply is difficult to finance, and buyers and operators have few ways to manage volatility.

We are building one market across transparent reference indices, a derivatives exchange pending CFTC designation as a Designated Contract Market and registration as a Derivatives Clearing Organization, physical delivery, and credit. Our goal is to let market participants price, trade, settle, and finance GPU compute with the clarity expected of a mature asset class.

We are an early team backed by Y Combinator, working with AI companies, data centers, neoclouds, trading firms, and financial institutions. Joining now means helping define both the product and the market around one of AI’s most important inputs.

The role

Reliable, deliverable supply is foundational to every index, transaction, and physical settlement. You will own the commercial supply side of Liquid Compute’s market: source GPU capacity, evaluate offers, negotiate contracts, and build durable relationships across neoclouds, major clouds, data-center operators, brokers, and other infrastructure providers.

This is a hands-on builder role. You will personally originate and close supply while creating the market intelligence, diligence standards, contracting workflows, and supplier operating cadence that a future team can scale.

What you will own

  • Build the supply map. Develop a detailed view of available capacity across provider, accelerator generation, region, cluster topology, networking, storage, availability date, and contract term.
  • Run sourcing end to end. Lead market mapping, outreach, requests for pricing or capacity, technical and commercial diligence, contracting, onboarding, performance reviews, renewals, and expansion.
  • Negotiate the full commercial package. Own price, volume, duration, ramp and availability commitments, service levels, credits and remedies, payment terms, delivery expectations, renewal rights, and termination provisions.
  • Turn market signals into procurement decisions. Partner with GTM, product, engineering, finance, legal, and risk to translate demand forecasts and price signals into what to secure, from whom, in which region, and on what terms.
  • Manage supplier and execution risk. Assess counterparty quality, technical readiness, delivery risk, concentration, and contract exposure; surface tradeoffs early and keep commitments auditable.
  • Build the supply operating system. Create pricing benchmarks, standardized deal comparisons, supplier records, approval paths, contract data, and dashboards that give leadership a current view of supply, economics, and risk.

What success looks like

  • A diversified supplier network. Liquid Compute can source credible capacity across the GPU types, regions, and contract lengths its customers need.
  • A repeatable decision framework. Supply decisions connect live market demand and pricing to margin, delivery confidence, and risk.
  • Predictable execution. Diligence, contracting, handoffs, renewals, and supplier reviews move quickly without losing control of terms or obligations.
  • Clear market intelligence. Leadership can see where supply is tightening, how providers compare, and which relationships merit deeper investment.

What you bring

  • You have sourced, procured, sold, or commercialized GPU, cloud, or data-center capacity at a neocloud, hyperscaler, AI lab, data-center operator, capacity broker, infrastructure marketplace, or adjacent business.
  • You have negotiated complex, high-value infrastructure agreements and can work comfortably with supplier executives, sales teams, technical operators, finance, and counsel.
  • You understand the underlying product. You can discuss accelerator types, regions, cluster and networking requirements, availability, contract duration, service levels, and delivery constraints.
  • You are analytically rigorous. You can compare offers, model economics, build forecasts, and make recommendations under incomplete or fast-changing information.
  • You build relationships the right way. You have a record of becoming a trusted counterparty without relying on confidential information from a prior employer.
  • You can operate globally across time zones, business cultures, and evolving supplier markets, and you are comfortable traveling when a relationship or transaction requires it.

Helpful, not required

  • Experience through a hardware-generation transition such as H100/H200 to B200/GB200 and the associated pricing, allocation, or deployment tradeoffs.
  • Exposure to brokerage, trading, commodities, or two-sided marketplaces where inventory, timing, margin, and counterparty quality interact.

How we work

We operate with a high level of ownership and an unusually fast pace. We want to be transparent about the current cadence: the team generally works about 60 hours across six days, with some week-to-week and role-specific flexibility. Candidates should evaluate that expectation honestly; this is not a conventional 9-to-5 environment.

Because the team is small, you will work directly with the founders and make decisions that affect company direction. We value sound judgment, clear communication, and people who move from ambiguity to action without creating needless process.

Compensation and benefits

  • Base salary: $150,000–$200,000, based on experience and role scope.
  • Equity: 0.10%–0.30%.
  • Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus a 401(k).
